West Lake — Six Connected Lakes
Huizhou's West Lake is actually made up of six connected lakes (South Lake, Feng Lake, Ping Lake, E Lake, Ling Lake, and Honghua Lake), described locally as "five lakes, six bridges, and eight scenes." The Jiuqu (Nine-Curve) Bridge is one of its landmark features. Sizhou Pagoda, dating back to the Tang dynasty and over a thousand years old, offers a panoramic view over the whole lake.

If you have extra time, Luofu Mountain is nearby and known for its waterfalls and unique rock formations. If you want a beach, the coastal areas of Dayawan and Xunliao Bay are also close, with attractive sea views and golden sand.

- From Guangzhou or Dongguan: high-speed rail also available, travel time varies depending on your exact starting point — confirm the schedule before you go.
- Within Huizhou: the lake is close to the city center; a taxi or Didi from the train station gets you there easily.
